    Widom teeth are grown in the mouth during the early stage of adulthood. They are the last set of teeth to grow. Most people are confused about wisdom teeth. The growth of wisdom teeth brings pain and discomfort in most cases. It is also observed in some cases that no discomfort or pain is experienced by wisdom teeth.

    The growth of wisdom teeth brings several questions and confusion. In some cases, the removal of a wisdom tooth invisalign becomes important. If it is ignored, it can cause further problems.

    WHAT ARE WISDOM TEETH?

    Teeth that are the third set of molars are called wisdom teeth. They appear in the last part of the mouth. They start to grow between the ages of 18 and 25. Most people have four wisdom teeth, two on the bottom and two on the top.

    During ancient times, these wisdom teeth were used for chewing hard foods. However, due to changes in diet, wisdom teeth are not necessary today.

    WHY WISDOM TEETH CAUSE PAIN AND DISCOMFORT?

    The problem of growing wisdom teeth with pain is not experienced by everyone. However, some people do experience pain. The reason is due to the small size of the jaw, which results in a lack of space inside the mouth. There is no extra room for wisdom teeth to grow properly. When space is scarce in your mouth, the wisdom teeth may;

    1. Get trapped inside the gum.

    2. Grow partially.

    3. Growing at a different angle.

    4. Pushing against other teeth.

    The above-listed problem can lead to dental issues, infection, and pain in the wisdom teeth.

    WHAT IS AN IMPACTED WISDOM TOOTH?

    A wisdom tooth that did not grow fully or get trapped inside the gum is called an impacted wisdom tooth. In some cases, it gets trapped inside the jawbone and cannot come to its normal position.

    An impacted tooth has different types of impactions, which are listed below;

    1. Angular Impaction: The wisdom tooth grows at a different angle.

    2. Horizontal Impaction: The wisdom tooth grows horizontally.

    3. Vertical Impaction: The wisdom tooth grows straight and gets stuck.

    Removal of a wisdom tooth becomes necessary due to impaction in most cases.

    WHEN IS WISDOM TEETH REMOVAL NECESSARY?

    Removal of wisdom teeth becomes necessary in the following cases;

    1. Severe pain in the affected wisdom tooth.

    2. Swelling and infection.

    3. Causing damage to nearby teeth.

    4. An impacted tooth can cause gum and cyst problems.

    5. Wisdom teeth are prone to cavities and tooth decay.

    6. Overcrowding of teeth.

    In some cases, you already have orthodontic problems. The dentist recommends removing the wisdom tooth.

    CONCLUSION

    Wisdom tooth removal treatment is a surgical procedure performed by a dental surgeon. In some cases, wisdom teeth can cause trouble, which requires removal. It is advisable to visit a dentist if you experience pain or discomfort in the wisdom tooth.
